I'm not sure whether you've been conned but a virus couldn't render your laptop 'beyond repair'. Also, the apps are for mobile, not laptops...
I heard of someone being told their harddrive was burnt and nothing could be done or words to that effect. Having worked in IT and never hearing this before, did some googling, told the person tosh. They took it to a trusted IT friend who repaired it and recovered their photos. Nice to know a certain large retailer with a dedicated IT team tells such interesting facts to make customers buy a new laptop......:rotfl:0 -

No, usually it's permanent. But if you've only been swagging a couple of days it would be very unusual to get banned that quickly. How many Gold surveys have you completed?
It is a lesson to always give consistently honest answers on surveys, or you will find you cannot earn via this method because they all have ways to police this.
I haven't completed any gold surveys yet which is why I was surprised..MFW: £65,421 to go!0 -

Sorry I meant downloads not apps.
I wasn't being conned as it was a friend who was trying to fix it. The download (worth a grand total of about 4p!) made the laptop unusable.0
