Cheapest is normally to get someone at uni (studying or working) to buy it for you.
If you do some googling you can easily find out how to buy it online even without knowing anyone at uni. Whilst the wife does legitimately get a discount I ordered a computer from such a link for her Xmas and at no point have they asked for proof of her student status.
