Smeg oven door problem

Hi
Purchased a Smeg single electric oven in July 2014.

Yesterday dear wife decided it needed a good clean. To help with this decided to take door off Manual very basic instructions place 2 pins (supplied) similar to Allen keys , in hinges and lift the door out.

Manual then says replace door in reverse order to above. There in lies the problem, no way could I remove the pins, took door out again and one of the pins then came out and the hinge moved to a different position.

Gave up and phoned Smeg awaiting mechanic, but was told by them it might not be covered by warranty.

The model is SF372X has anyone else had similar experience when refitting door?
