What does it say in the email you received about the change? I'd expect they'd be willing to refund.0

Has your flight been cancelled? Is the new flight number completely different? If so you are entitled to refund or re-routing.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

City is 16km from the centre of Gothenburg, Landvetter (the other Gothenburg airport) is 24 km so what other airport in Sweden is 64km away that Ryanair fly to?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Seems the airport authority has moved the flights. I would be surprised if they offered a refund, assuming timings have not altered significantly.0 -
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport is only 20 minutes by coach from Gothenburg City Centre. Tickets are 178 Krona return (just under £15)

What exactly did the Ryanair email say? They may be more than willing to refund you. It'll be much easier to call them in any case than email.0 -
The not very user-friendly website says the journey time is 30 minutes.Gothenburg Landvetter Airport is only 20 minutes by coach from Gothenburg City Centre. Tickets are 178 Krona return (just under £15)

The 20 minutes it refers to is the frequency, i.e. every 20 minutes.
Agreed Landvetter is a much nicer airport. Curiously perhaps, Ryanair has a reputation of using distant airports. Gothenburg City is an exception, being closer to the city than Landvetter.

according to wikipedia City airport is 5.8miles north west from the centre of Gothenburg and Landvetter is 13 miles east southeast...so although the airports are a distance apart, if you are going into the centre of Gothenburg there is a difference of 7.2 miles
The City airport is currently closed to Ryanair (amongst others) until end Jan 15 at least0 -

This is the official email Ryanair sent
""Dear Customer,
Ryanair has been advised by Gothenburg City Airport (GSE) that due to essential runway repairs that all flights to/from the airport departing between 4th December 2014 and 31st January 2015 will now operate to/from Gothenburg Landvetter Airport
which is located 44km east of Gothenburg City airport"
surprising Ryanir would say 44km which is a lot more than others have said & Landvetter on Gmaps is showing a lot more distance, aslo the bus price of £15 ,so 30 return, is £30 I would rather have in my pocket than theres especially as I didnt change anything on my side.
Ryanair did a special offer when I booked on Dec 1st & I now believe they knew about the Airport repairs but didnt let customers know until a forthnight later ; seems more underhand tactics to me from Ryanair ,pity I thought they were going to get better as Michael O leary so pubicly promise a year ago .0 -

no it isn't (see post 4) but it is a lot LESS than you said in post 1.
How were you intending getting from City Airport into city centre and what was the planned cost?
As post 7 states, ' travel times/costs are very similar.'The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
this is not ryanair's fault.
the same situ happened a couple of years ago with warsaw modlin who had runway issues therefore all flights were divereted to warsaw chopin, which was handy as it was closer to warsaw central anyway.
the issue arose when the airport estimated a repair time and then this time came and went, so when i booked my tickets to modlin, it was assumed the runway would be repaired by then, but it was'nt, through no fault of ryanairs, and the same situ probably occured in gothenburg too.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
