I have a tiles floor in my kitchen and I want to put lino down - I can't take the tiles up as they are severely glued to the concrete
Can I out the lino on the tiles directly or due to the grout lines will I need to put some sheet or ply down first on the tiles before applying the lino?
Any advice would be appreciate before applying the lino in terms of how to prepare the tiles
Thanks

I wouldn't put the lino down directly on the tiles, it will look awfull.
Self leveling compound over the tiles would be my best guess... assuming that the tiles are secure.0 -
With the uneven surface you'd get uneven wear. If the lino is cheap enough you may not care!0

I'm with richy999. You need to put a self levelling compound over the tiles.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Hire an SDS drill with tile chisel and they'll fly off!0 -

And you will STILL have to level the floor. And you don't know wots beneath the tiles, as long as you have the right floor levels leave the tiles alone. They are ?? flat and level and solid , ideal base .
Without seeing the said tiles I would not suggest self leveling, may be required but might not.
You may well get away with just a heavy duty lino ............no one can advise you without seeing the floor.0 -
Thanks I am thinking of laminate floor now - the floor is level and tiles are secure and so will put down a laminate foam underlay and then lay the laminate on top
I have a section where there are some missing tiles as there were some units there before - to fill this do I just need self levelling compound it's about 10mm deep and 1 metre square and just has concrete floor as the base
Thanks again0
