Anything the same as ING out there please?.

Hello everybody,
Hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas.

Can anyone give me some advice,
Have searched on the net and on here but cannot find anything suitable.
For quite a few years I had an ING account which was one password, one username and one memorable date to log in-simple,

In this account I had 7 accounts within it- if this makes sense.
Interest was poor but doesn't matter much as I need convenience.
These accounts let me have monthly direct debits from wife and I's joint account and my Santander bank accounts to my ING accounts,
Crucially I was able to transfer funds out of these accounts back to Santander and our joint account (First Direct), simply and within a few seconds anytime I wanted from my ING accounts using my tablet at home.
Barclays took over ING and I tried it for a while and couldn't get on with them,
1, Wouldn't let me transfer funds out myself to Santander and First Direct.
2, Complicated log in using a daft calculator type card and keypad thingy.
3, Customer service rudes and unhelpful (ING were lovely).
So gave up on them but really need something else asap,
Can anyone advise please as disappointed I cannot find anything simple (I'm not great on a computer) and gives me what I need.

Thankyou in anticipation,
Regards Zaffy.

The main reason it's getting unusual to find a bank with a simple login process is because if it is simple, it is easier for criminals to target. Don't expect things to be easy ever again, because criminals aren't getting more and more stupid!

I'm a bit puzzled though - if you have a Santander account, why don't you use their online service instead of ING? I have online accounts with eight different banks/BSs and I find Santander the easiest of all to access (though I concede their customer service isn't great).

When you say you had 7 accounts within ING, do you mean that you could see the balances of non-ING accounts as well? I confess it's many years since I last had an account with them, so I'm not familiar with how their system worked.

    Hi,
I had 7 ING savings accounts all under one umbrella is one set of log in details.
The important factor is to be able to move funds in and out myself.
  • I use barclays for my current account and find I am able to manage ins and outs fine to a variety of other accounts (my own charles stanley and nationwide isas) and also to the Mrs accounts with Lloyds. And also pay credit cards etc. Have to use the calculator thing but its no big issue - no advocate of Barclay s at all but doubt they are any worse than others and you have to consider hassle of moving.
Left is never right but I always am.

Try Tsb, pays 5% and you can move money in and out very easily even using mobile app.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Halifax Online Saver allows five accounts and does Faster Payments.

    No current account requirement.

Thankyou for your help so far,
Wouldnt touch Halifax with a barge pole, we lost our house and they refused to help us prevent this despite never missing any payments.

TSB you have to have a normal banking account with them.

Also most of these institutions will only let me have one account.

I have a Santander C/A and used to have an ISA - I could see both accounts there when logged in. The problem may be if the accounts you want to see are not all in your name?
Have you tried Aldermore? I found it easy to open an account and seems easy to log on to.

Barclays still has one online banking login which lets you access all your Barc accounts. However I think what you have fallen foul of is that you cannot do a transfer from a Barc Savings-type account straight out to another bank, you have to move the money to the current account (this happens instantly) and then out to the other bank. I think many banks have this restriction.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • Just checked out Aldermore but they seem to be aimed at those with better finances lol.
