TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition

Options
I was given the TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition (UK & ROE) as a Christmas present.

My 1st sat nav, so not familiar with all the additional features.

Anyone familiar with the model, can you answer me a few questions please?

Once I've programmed and started my journey, if an accident or slow traffic occurs, does the sat nav automatically inform me of any delay whilst I'm travelling?

I'm stuck finding the settings button to adjust the clock, I've located whether to show the time in 24hr mode, but cannot find how to adjust the timing.

What's the advantage of paying for subscription?

If I decide to subscribe, do paid subscriptions have to be made direct via TomTom website, or is a cheaper 3rd party available?

Thanks in advance.

There are no live updates on this device so this wont happen.
It will plan a different route depending on the time of the day and predictable traffic conditions, this is the IQ routes part of the device.

    On mine its...
    OPTIONS....
    ARROW TO THIRD PAGE....
    SET CLOCK....
First page lets you choose time format 24hr/12hr
    PRESS NEXT AT BOTTOM...
    CHANGE TIME WITH ARROWS.

You get map updates and speed camera updates.
Some of these devices come with free lifetime maps depending on purchase date and place of purchase, receipt will be needed for this to be activated.
You do get free mapshare updates. which are updates submitted by users.
I found this link for the maps promotion which may be relevant to your TomTom http://www.tomtomxl-promotion.com/

TomTom speed cameras are useless, try http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/ they are updated regularly and are much more accurate, I think its about £20 a year for these.
  • Excellent, thank you :)
