GQ - love and totally agree with your definition of a good business person - what you gave a link to, was, I admit, a shock to me. Just did nt want you to think I was talking from no basis. I wish that what I had thought was true - but it looks as if not Ho hum - we will just have to do our little bit and hope people power eventually works
Have just about eaten down my freezer now - have just put 2 lots of pasta in tomato sauce in there for ready meals tho! Lots of the freezer is filled with bags of newspaper so it does not run all the flippin time! (thus using electricity cooling thin air!)
Been busy today - sorting out dates for a CAMRA presentation and sorting/raising sponsorship for their beer festival. Also been teaching my autistic student - Mum says he is doing better at home as well so that was very good news. He realy tries to engage - bless him! Also running around after my son who is organising parts of a large music/poetry fair in Nhampton + sorting out date and venue for a friend who wants to visit historical house but has access issues (due to mobility) NT are v helpful tho - so am bookiing that in for September. So much I wanted to do for me and house today but thats gonna have to wait for next week. It will all come back to me ....... it always does!
Nite allAim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j

Morning all,
I've managed to get two pillow cases sewn up and started cutting out a third last night. I've been working on the menu plan for next week to eat down the freezer. Today I'm headed to a car boot sale for a bit of entertainment. I'd like to find a new door curtain for our front door. The existing one is provided by the landlord but it really is in a pitiful condition. I'll see if I can find something similar for very few pennies and ask if I can swap it out. If he says no I can always just pack away the existing one and use the nicer one until we move as I've done with the infamous burnt orange velvet curtains from the bedroom.
I found some breaded chicken fillets for my tea last night in the YS section so I cooked all of them and will do something with the second half for my tea tonight. Lunch will be a sandwich of some sort.
First though, time to put a wash on and get it out on the line before it is time to get my bus. The boot fair only starts at 10.0 -
Bon voyage jackie
FP car boot on a Saturday, please tell where? Saturday is Mr V's only day off with the exception of this month where he is working every day 'till the first Saturday in September. The joys of being self employed.I am thinking we could have a stall perhaps. The kids social lives are too manic to help me at one.It is too much for me these days to do it alone.
Spent all day yesterday cleaning, washing the bannisters and such after the recent building work. All will be quiet for a couple of weeks because the joiner is going on holiday.
I planted half the garden up so it could have a good soaking yesterday. Will try to get the rest turned over at least today and some edging put in.
The next project will be transferring everything to the loft and possibly decorating the small bedroom.Started in DD2's room but will hang fire there. Our room is ready to be plastered. The builder tells me that what he needs to do to the loft, knocking it about taking old walls down, putting insulation down and boarding out might damage the plaster.
To save time and money I will have a go at knocking the stud walls out in the loft.I have got 2 weeks whilst the builder is on his holidays.
Youngest going away to Wales with her friends family later, hope the weather is good next week.

Hi Vulpix--not sure if this will be helpful or not. Today is the second of 3 carboot sales in Alexandra Park hosted by the friends of the park to raise money so I think it might be finished by the time your husband can help. There aren't many on a Saturday, are there? They have a facebook page here where a few people said that the first one was good but there haven't been many updates about the one today:
https://www.facebook.com/AlexParkMCR?fref=ts
I found the sale listed here which seemed to have a few more listings than some of the other sites:

Well, I think I had a very successful morning. I found a hat box perfect for my winter hats for £1.50 (I looked into buying one ages ago but they're very expensive so I had resigned myself to waiting to find a used one and even those were out of my price range so very chuffed with this!). I found a copy of Sir Walter Scott stories for 50p, something I'd like to read and four dress patterns in my size, unused at 4 for £1. That lady was very nice. She saw me thumbing through her huge stack for ages and didn't try to rush me and then didn't even count how many I'd selected just said to give her £1. Bargain for me. I stopped in the local CS on the way home and found a sheer silk blouse for layering. I wasn't sure about it--it is a bit fussier than my usual but I do know I have a shortage of nice blouses for teaching as one is on its very last legs and a second will probably only make it through this winter and I also know it will go with several of my skirts so decided it was worth the risk.
Have a nice cuppa and a biscuit now and trying to decide what to do this afternoon. I've made it in a proper tea cup with saucer--all unpacked now that we've got the dresser finished. It reminded me of someone on the OS boards who has an Emma Bomback quote in their signature about burning the rose shaped candle. Think that might be McCullough but not sure!
I could do with some weeding, but there is both a stone cutter next door and a saw across the alley so it is a bit noisy. Might do some indoor chores and leave the weeding for tomorrow morning.0 -

Hope you have a wonderful holiday JackieO!0 -
Morning all
Jackie - have a great holiday
Been working long hours the last few days so have been too tired to post, however, back to normal shifts now until the end of the week. At least I've managed to rack up some NSDs.
I've now lost almost a stone since going gf (yes gluten free for whoever it was that asked) - a welcome side effectso have been digging through my wardrobe and getting out lots of things that I haven't worn for years. Very glad now that I tend to keep everything, saves me buying new clothes.

Morning all,
I hope JackieO and her crew had a safe and easy journey yesterday and are in full swing on their hols.
I have plenty to get on with today. I fancied a 'posh' cake yesterday so i've made the cake and today I need to ice it. Chocolate on chocolate, although I don't like this cake recipe and I always seem to 'find' it again online when I'm looking for a new one. I also need to get things started for tea--lentil rissoles and tzatziki with salad tonight and change linens and vac upstairs. I'll put a wash in as well since it is supposed to be clear today if not particularly warm.
I've recently discovered a few dramas on UKTV which has a catch up programme--some Agatha Christie recorded in what looks like the late 70s early 80s to my untrained eye. They make nice knitting companions so I'll probably watch one of those while I have a break later.0
