Well, I tried to get the last of my face scrub out of the tube this morning but squeezing just wasn't working! Out came my scissors to chop the tube top off - loads left in there....another 3 days worth I reckon :T0

I'd decided to get up early and go to the allotment for a while before work and thus gone to bed early. Just as well, as my neighbours decided to load a removal van right outside my flat, commencing at 04.55 am. They always were inconsiderate, so no loss to the neighbourhood. Gone now - yippee!!!!!!!
Dunno how hot it'll be later but it was getting there at 5.30 am. Weeded for an hour, picked strawbs and then home to shower and have breakfast.
Going to be working indoors for the bulk of the day, but I can't be out in strong sunshine for too long anyway, very fair skin, so wouldn't have been outside in the heat of the day anyway. Going to see how little I can spend in July, apart from the big bill at the opticians and the dentist, of course.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

jrtfan and meritaten - Thanks for the tip, one of my friends' dads is an allotment holder so will go down and speak to him.
I do that too, Mrs Smith, I have just cut down the tube of moisturiser and there is about a weeks worth in there!
Well done on the curtains Lynn I will be doing something similar when the living room is done.
Got a bag of bananas yesterday reduced to 23p so am making 4 banana loaves, 2 for the freezer and 2 to take to DS2s.
Going to make the most of the sunshine, the veggies will love it!0 -
Hello All,
Like many of you, I had a very busy day in the garden yesterday. My friend who has an allotment and started me on growing vegetables came round for the day and in exchange for doing her laundry (she normally washes everything by hand!) and providing lunch including a bottle of prosecco that my DB and I didn't drink at the weekend because we were out for a meal - well, it's hot weather I wouldn't want it to evaporate:beer:, that really would have been a waste, she helped me make raised beds for my burgeoning vegetables. The wood was old cladding from her beach house and my DS provided the nails. We also rearranged my pot flowers on a mini patio and a lovely day was had by all although I made a big mistake by wearing trousers so now my top half is very brown and my legs look like porridge. Will try to redress the balance today. The temperature is rising here but there's still a nice breeze.
Not thinking of recipes at the moment, but will post some soon.
Have a wonderful day, Folks, wherever you are.

i'm a happy bunny as I had an opticians appointment this morning and he is happy and I don't need new ones.good to know that if nothing else works my eyes are OK
he says because of my advancing years I will need a test every year but I don't mind that at least I have no bil bill looming over me
although DD needs new reading glasses as she does a lot of VDU work so I am treating her to a new pair
She is a good lass to her old Mum and I don't mind really, I was expecting to fork out for two of us this morning so I feel I am still on a winner
Just going for a large cuppa and feet up for a bit
Cheers chums

Morning all
I've got some bananas that need used up so will make a banana loaf at some point. It worked well with the gf flour last time and even OH said it was yummy.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and enjoys the sunshine
Hi- could you post your recipe please- always on the look out for decent GF recipes xx0 -
Glad so many of you have been enjoying the weather by getting out in your gardens/allotments. Today was the first really warm day here (Glasgow) and of course I was back at work today so missed most of the nice weather!
Trying to get to the motivation to make tomorrow's lunch and overnight oats for breakfast, I didn't sleep well last night so am really tired, but I know I'll be glad I was organised in the morning.
Glad your eyes are OK JackieO, I love it when they say I don't need new glasses and I get to save some money.
vhalla sounds like a nice swap you had with your friend, enjoy your new raised beds. What are you going to plant in them?Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Already planted, Bluegreen, with perpetual spinach, leeks, flowering broccoli, tomatoes, kale, beans and a red lettuce whose name escapes me at the moment! And cucumbers.
I'm really very excited about it all - I just have to watch out for the rabbits and other vegetarian wild life round here.

Hi janb, I just substituted gf flour in my usual banana loaf recipe and it seemed to work fine.
3oz marg
4oz sugar
2 eggs
8oz self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 mashed bananas
Cream marg and sugar. Add eggs, flour and baking powder. Mix in mashed bananas. Bake at 180 for 50 mins.
Do you have a good gf chocolate chip cookie recipe by any chance? I tried my usual recipe with gf flour but it wasn't particularly successful.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
