Thanks for the Brownie recipe vhalla, I will minimise the left-over Easter egg into some of those for DS1 when he visits this weekend :)

I need to get my summer clothes down from the attic & sort through them Kondo-ing as I go, before washing & ironing the keepers.

I also need to pot on my cucumber seedlings, as they have gone from nothing to 2 inches tall in 24 hours :D

DH has suggested using some of what is in the freezers so we can start to make room for the new year's allotment produce...rhubarb crumble it is then!

Wondered why you were on so early Misstara - you've got a busy day ahead so hope all goes well.
Love those grasses Cheerful - I had the same thought as Nursemaggie - they look irresistible to stroke.
Grey here and started raining DH is huffing 'cos he's got to take his motor bike for its MOT this morning & it will get wet so he'll have to dry & polish it (never mind that he'll get wet lol)
As I can't get out in the garden I'll have a good blitz through the house - its a tip at the moment. Need to finish two small cushions for the boat so I can get my sewing stuff put away too.
I'm a bit trepidacious - I've bitten the bullet & booked to go on an overnight rally with the sailing club next weekend. DH & DS1 are crewing ( both know more than me!) & this is the first time we've properly sailed her - fingers crossed!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    Morning all!

Laundry is on (should've got that done yesterday but the darned lift broke down and there aint no way I can schlep the washing up and down the stairs!) - in the dryer at the moment - so that's one job almost done.

Low-fat sausages taken out of the freezer...a couple for tonight and then a couple to be cut up and added to some thick pea soup.....it's a 'fasting' day today and I am saving most of my allowance for a sort of 'big breakfast' tonight! (Sausage, poached egg, tomatoes and mushrooms)

I need to be really strong today...Mum is popping round for coffee and we are going through the ever-growing pile of catalogues....it will be too easy to spend spend spend! ...Most of those catalogues need to go in the recycling bin without any order!

There's a double Columbo on Channel 5 this afternoon....I might get some more hat-knitting done whilst that is on.

And some 'mending' to sort out too...not really mending though - 'altering' perhaps- while Mum is here I will slip on my jeans and ask her to pin them for me - it is hard to decide how much they need taking up on my own - much easier to get someone else to help!

And I am NOT going to bake those brownies! They sound too good!!!!!

You know, Prinzessilein, I always wonder whether I should post 'sinful' recipes or not. Will find a 'virtuous. one for later to balance out the brownies!

There is no such thing as a 'sinful' recipe...everything is acceptable in small portions!

(I just live alone and I KNOW if I cook the batch of brownies I eat them all before they have even cooled!)

Thanks for the recipe vhalla, I made the brownies today as we have people coming over this evening, there should have been 8 of us but 4 have dropped out, one couple can't get childcare, the other couple, the husband wants to come but his wife always tries not to visit, we aren't really posh enough as our furniture is a bit battered & we don't wear designer clothes. Mind you, we haven't run up £4k worth of debt since Christmas!
Apart from the brownies I'm doing an assortment of flavoured chicken pieces, garlic bread, wedges, assorted cheeses, nice bread, salad & some dips. Hubby & I will be eating the leftovers all week as I bought the food yesterday thinking there would be 8 of us only found out this morning that people were dropping out.

Hi, can I join you please? I love reading what you have all been up to.

Feeling quite pleased with myself, I got some wicker tub type chairs from a charity shop (2 for £10), spray painted them dark grey and have just made some cushions for the seats. Now I am no seamstress and it has been a bit hit and miss but they will do - need to use the machine more often!
I have also re-hemmed DDs work trousers, how doesn't she notice that they have come down?

Course you can join in Camelot. :D I'm still messing around trying to get the courage to repaint my pieces of furniture I've got from CSs. I just know once I start I'm going to have great fun.
Is that the first thing you've done or have you revamped other things, Camelot.

I have to agree with you girls about that grass being perfect for a sensory garden. It is so soft and really like bunny tails. We once had to huge tubs of it either side of my greenhouse door and I never once went in or out without touching it. Grows so easy from seed, you don't need to do anything really.

I've not even sown my cucumbers yet. I'm way behind Floss. Broad beans are like triffids, though. Mighty proud there.

Prinzess- I love Columbo too but DH popped Little Dorrit on and I so love that. Its been on for hours! I'm rushing in and out watching that, reading this and trying to deal with the washing and make my Celery Soup all at once.
Annoyingly, I can't wait to eat my soup but I can't blend it yet as DH still asleep and the whizzer will wake him. I like it blended really well and the masher just didn't cut it the other day. I'll have to be patient. :(

I daren't make the brownies. Decided that I must drop some weight before the summer but the occasional treat will be slipped in there so don't stop posting the treaty recipes Viv or we will all cry. ;)
