    Hello Everyone,

Just a quick 'Good Morning' before I go out on my antiques foray with daughter-in-law (she's swinging around to pick me up after the school run this morning so I didn't quite have to get up at the crack of dawn today or pile into the car with 6 children). Our plans have slightly altered; we're going into Horncastle today, and then seeing my dealer friend on Thursday so I've a double temptation to look forward to! I'll report back later.

I do so agree with the comments about baby food - your baby will eventually be eating your own food so the sooner he/she gets used to it, the better and so much cheaper, of course.

Incidentally, I'm an incredibly proud granny today, my second youngest grandchild, Mikey, who is four (already at school in the reception class or whatever it is currently called) actually can now read. He read a little story to me last night. It took me unawares how thrilled I was for him. One minute they're babies and then the next...Little Aimee (just a year younger) won't be far behind, she's incredibly competitive and wants to do everything her older siblings do.

Will report back later on how I resisted temptation, or not today!

    Viv xx

Cat Would you be able to cut off the holey leg (if she's only holed one leg) and do the same with another & wear two pants pieces with a leg each? Not explaining myself very well but I used to do the same with my tights to get some extra wear

I will be saving the tights in future to do this: cut of the holey leg, match up a pair of gusset and one leg and make a new pair:D

I just had my post blocked for some unknown reason, just trying it again before I re-type the recipes.

Afternoon all....haven't posted for a day or so...my laptop was running really slow!

    Lots to catch up on!

Scuffed shoes?....Has anyone suggested banana peel?. Bananas contain potassium - and so, apparently does shoe polish!....If you rub the scuffed shoes briskly with the inside of the banana peel and then buff the shoes with a soft cloth it should help reduce the scuffs.

I had a free lunch today!....Living in sheltered accommodation we all put magazines/books on the table when the are finished with, so others can read them....I found a coupon in one for a free sandwich wrap at Greggs - valid until the end of the month - so I clipped it and got my wrap today.....Not overly-brilliant, and certainly not worth paying for (I can make a good sandwich for just pennies!) but not too bad for a freebie! - I had a sweet chilli and chicken wrap, supposedly with salad but the 'salad' was just loads of lettuce and 2 thin slices of cucumber!

    Hello Everyone,

Not quite sure what I've been doing wrong but my posts keep getting blocked. I'll try a short one again and just say I had a good day browsing in Horncastle, didn't succumb to any antiques but did treat myself to some date and fig balsamic vinegar to drizzle over home-made ice cream and some real Italian amaretti biscuits. Let's see if this works.

This is the fourth time I've tried to post some recipes and it keeps blocking me - what can I be doing wrong?

As soon as I try and write a long post, it goes wrong - will have a break and try later - going insane here!

Sorry Vhalla - can't help with the posts. Hope you can sort it soon.
Often used black marker pen on shoes - especially when I've scraped the plastic heels
Certainly agree about home made food being pureed or mashed for babies - much better. I did a survey a while ago on a new baby food that would keep for over a week without being refrigerated :eek: it wasn't a good seller & you'd think common sense would tell the manufacturers that if its got enough preservatives to keep it that long you wouldn't want to give it to a baby.
Busy day today - gym first , cuppa with DS1 over to the boat to do some more work, back home & did some clearing up in the garden & planted some lilies in a pot, machined hemmed tablecloth for DS1, got DH his dinner ( left over lamb made into pot pies with ys pastry) & arranged for a lady to collect a bag of woodash for her garden - phew! Catching up with you lot now :)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Sorry Vhalla I'm not up to speed on this tech stuff, I've only just worked out how you all get the smilies. Cheerfulness seems to be really good at these things, hopefully she will be able to help you.

Glad you were able to resist temptation, I would have given in.
Managed to get some gardening done as we had lovely sunshine today.
Blanket is unpicked and I have managed to start the crochet.
Finally sitting with a nice cup of char, after having washed the tea plates.
    Bye for now. xx
