Microsoft Frontpage for a Charity

Hi, I am updating a website for a Dog and Cats Home charity and their website is on Microsoft Frontpage. Rather than go to the hassle of borrowing their tower to be able to update it, is there any where I can download it onto my laptop for free? Even and older version would be fine.
I have Dreamweaver, but didn't really want to use that to alter the files as it is all setup on Frontpage

Their website is a website, it shouldn't mater what you do to it both frontpage and dreamweaver are website editing tools, get it sorted with dreamweaver.
as for getting Microsoft front page for free not a legal chance at all even if its an old version. you could try the trial version of office 2007 but that may cause more problems if they come to try anything with the older version of frontpage that they have. office 2007 is a pain in the tush when it comes to backward compatibility0 -
The difference between Frontpage and Dreamweaver is quite obvious when you look at the HTML code.
FP fills with all sorts of cr*p whereas DW creates a very clean page. Much easier to read.
There are plenty of WYSIWYG programs out there for web page authoring that are free. Try googling, but a quick search found this, which is also mentioned on OpenOffice forum.0 -

Bear in mind I am a novice - I am doing them a favour with my limited 'expertise' as they no longer have anyone to do it for them.
I am trying to work out how the previous person has done things and how I can then continue to update pages.
I have been teaching myself using Dreamweaver. I wasn't sure if the webpages could be just edited with any editor or if pages created with Frontpage had specifics in their code that only worked with Frontpage
The other issue was that despite playing with web pages, I have never made any live pages. So I am not very good with uploading to servers and FTTP (hope thats right?) thingys. I noticed Frontpage had a very nifty 'publish' button which then had all the details about the server in.
Could I copy over the program files of Frontpage to my laptop and then would they work or would I need an install disc?0 -
I'm sure that you would have to install it.
I have it as part of Microsoft Office 2000 and 2003. The latest release being 2003. Not sure of the differences between the versions.

Copy the HTML files etc over to your laptop and then set them up in DW.
Go to Site / SiteFiles and then Site / DefineSites and point at the files.
Setup the host on that page with logon info etc.
Should be straight forward from there.
Suggest that you take a look at the HTML before doing any editing. It may be quicker and easier to rewrite it.0
