find the biggest estate agent / letting agent in and around Milton Keynes

Hi, I am helping my brother with market research on big Letting and estate agents in and around Milton Keynes.

I want to do this by:

• Highest/largest number of 'real' properties advertised.
• Largest in terms of amount of turnover/profit
• Agencies with the most rapid growth in the last 3 years.

I have no idea where and how do I start this humungous task against the individual tasks and would most appreciate any pointers/tips from the experts in market research or those from around Milton Keynes.

Not quite, I don't think you understood what was being asked or perhaps I was unclear.

So let me try again, what I had meant was HOW I do it rather than to ask anyone on here to do it for me (i.e serve on a plate for me)

Obviously I would not expect anyone to do this kind of work for me at all. Taking into account each bullet, how would someone go about finding this information out?

* Exactly the same as an estate agency- pay someone to canvas your area and count boards. Of course this doesn't consider properties sold before being marketed or those not willing to be promoted in such a way.

* Attempt to find the information from Companies House, though how accurate this really is it debatable.

*Nye on impossible. Monitor how many new listings each agency makes on Rightmove for the a one month period and extrapolate- again, debatable how accurate this would be.

If you 'brother' is looking at establishing his own estate agency he should be able to answer these questions, plus more, otherwise he's just going to be another cowboy.

Just sign up with a few and you'll soon be told each one is the biggest / makes the largest number of sales in the area / has more 'real' properties available to buyers than any other ...

hahaha exactly the point I was subtly making! have signed up with the few and guess what, they are apparently the best in what they do!:T
