Chinese script on laptop

Recently my laptop has started showing Chinese script at the top of the screen. It gradually grows until it covers all my tabs, and sometimes starts to flash.

I have run McAfee and it says there are no problems. I am running the dreadful Windows 8, is this anything to do with it ?

Nothing wrong with Windows 8.1 and your problem is nothing to do with the OS....
Download and run Malwarebytes. sounds like you have some malware on your machine.

I think that may be your problem!
Many of the participants on this forum think very little of McAfee, and would suggest another software manufacturer, perhaps even a 'free' one.

Agreed, McAfee is pants.

Try fixing the current problem with Malwarebytes (free)

After that, replace the McAfee with BitDefender, Avast or Avira, all free.
