New front door - worried about copied keys

Am after a new front door supplying and fitting and am a little worried about the fitters keeping a copy of the key and it getting into the wrong hands (has happened locally in the past). Have a nice house and in a nice area and you hear horror stories of it happening, what measures can be taken to prevent this?

Get a 2nd locksmith around to change the locks and keys.
But this cycle could go on and on and on and on...
Why are you suspicious of door fitters you havnt even met yet
Or fit new barrels yourself0 -

Yes, assuming it's a eauro style lock as fitted to most upvc etc you can order a rep by mail, even have it sent to a dfifferent address if you are hyper worried about it, but locksmiths wouldn't survive long if they behaved irregularly.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
If its a standard euro lock then you can easily change the cylinders, 5 min job.
If you're really concerned, then when you're buying the door see if they're OK with you supplying the euro cylinder, then you can source it yourself. You'd need to make sure you get the size correct as there's different lengths and offsets. It has some advantage, means you can ensure you get a decent mechanism from a good manufacturer - look for bump and snap proof.0 -
Get a lock with coded keys where only the registered person can get copies cut.0
