Yes, if you request contact in writing only, then they should respect that, you can complain if they don't.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I still fail to see why you insist on phoning them.
they will bully you into paying more than you can afford. they will say rubbish on the phone that will scare you. thney will lie to you on the phone.
Plaease just take the advice we are giving you - stay off the phone.
The "deadlines" are just meaningless numbers that are spat out of their silly little computers.
Just write to them to say you will be paying £x.xx per month and wait for them to reply.
As for mental health issues/wellbeing, my OH has serious mental health issues, so I funnly understand these.0 -
You obviously don't understand mine if you can't comprehend my need to contact them by the date agreed.
I'm ringing them tomorrow to inform them I've posted it, it's a better alternative to ending up housebound while awaiting a written response. I won't be discussing payments, just telling them that I've posted it so that they know I haven't just failed to make contact.27/12/2014 - debts totalling £3315 approx

Bottom line here is to relax and take a breath, dealing with it in a way that suits you. People here can offer advice left, right and centre but ultimately it is what you feel comfortable with that matters. Calling them to explain you've sent a letter is absolutely not a bad thing to do as it shows you are cooperating and engaged with the process whilst subtly telling them that you want to work this out in a way that you're most comfortable with.
Go you, I say. They may ask some difficult questions on the phone but again, don't feel pressured into anything, just advise them that you have answered everything they need in writing and they should get the letter imminently.
Best of luck.
