Moved house last week still unpacking, just got a letter this morning addressed to the occupier about tv licence and remembered did not change the address, in a hurry went on line, filled in the form and was asked for £40.00, was going out so paid.
Thinking later I have never been charged for changing address before so rechecked, instead of clicking on tvlicence,co,uk I had clicked on televisionlicence.co.uk, private company who does it for you at a cost.
I know there are firms doing this for passports and driving licences but was not expecting for tv, so take care, I still feel stupid for falling for it.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It's now history and you've learned from it so won't be doing it again.
We've all done daft things in our time. As they say, worse things happen at sea.0 -
Thanks for the heads up. Don't worry about it, we've all done similar. I once got conned by a website that charged me for some software which I later found out was freely available at no cost from the provider.0

Yep, it's an easy trap, they try to charge for many free services, and catch a fair few I guess.
Doesn't class you as gullible, just highlights the stress of moving home and the fact that unlike some folks you are a genuinely honest person who didn't want a ticket for no TV licence.;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Did you pay by credit card?0
