That's really good I'm trying to drink more water too I have no where near enough!! Do you feel better for it?

    X

I often get bad headaches which I suspect are because I'm dehydrated. I've just never been in the habit of drinking much. All I've noticed over the last couple of days is an increase in my visits to the loo!! :rotfl: Hopefully I'll start seeing a difference in a few more days! Need to get my gymming rolling next. I'm thinking I'll go Tuesday and Friday this week. There, it's written down, it means I have to do it :D

As promised here's my current money situation. Please don't judge me! After paying back £8+ before we bought the house I only had £1k of personal debt left. That has now increased as we've been buying stuff for the new place. Bad. Bad. Bad. I think I've okayed it in my head as it is all on 0% offers. Another pro is that I've been saving £300 per month since August so I do have a little nest egg say aside which I could use to pay most of the debt off should I need to. I obviously don't want to do that I want to pay off the debts and save! Theoretically I should be able to become debt free by my original target age of 30 - I've got just over 20 months to do it.

Debt 1 - the leftovers from my pre-house buying days of £989 on 0% until Jan 2016
Debt 2 - curtains for the new place at £1198 (big windows) on 0% until July 2015
Debt 3 - me being stupid and overspending on house stuff since moving £617 on 0% until March 2016

Ok, so that's embarrassing. I'm a little ashamed I've got myself into more debt but at least nothing is costing me interest. I now need to get myself back into money saving mode so I can start making snowball payments!!!

  • Ah these things happen and in all honesty I think you have done great to keep it as 'low' as you have, it's so easy to get carried away sometimes and you have it on 0% - I did the same last year though so I know how you feel, I didn't dent my debts at all due to being on maternity leave and also took some stuff out on 0% so actually increased my debt total slighty - grrrrr! we will get there though! 2016 is the year, debt free and 30 - whoop! x

    Thank you W&M!

Yey to the thought of being debt free - not so much yey to being 30!! haha! It is definitely do-able in the time although I know we still want so much for the house and BF would like a new car soon and I want a big shiny rock :o We just need to get our heads round paying for what we can afford when we can afford it. It is BF's birthday at the end of this month so I doubt very much I'm going to have anything for snowballing. Still it's ok - I didn't put that on my to-do list for this month!

I have managed to drink at least one litre of water since the new year. I think I'm actually thirstier because of it?! Or maybe I'm just wanting more water because my intake has increased? Need to get home and pack my gym bag for the first visit of the new year tomorrow morning. BF goes to work at 7.50am so he can drop me off on the way. I WILL GO. I MUST GO!!

  • I got up early and went to the gym :j I shouldn't get too excited as it's only one session but one step at a time! I've also drank one litre of water already today but as I've been exercising I think I need to drink at least 2L so I'm aiming for that! Next session is Friday. I must go I must go!

I'm not fretting too much about the money situation this month as it's BF's birthday present buying time. I shall look to start making overpayments come February payday. I have done a meal plan for the next two weeks and done an online shop, I've been so busy over Christmas with work that we've just been grabbing whatever whenever. I used to be pretty hot on the meal planning when I was concentrating on the debt slaying so I need to start up those past good habits :)

    Your doing brilliantly!
Great idea with planning the meals and having a firm plan for the gym, I have also been exercising and drinking more water I feel much better for it so far :) I just need to stick at it.

Any ideas what your buying the BF? X

  • Aw thanks LG! If we can't celebrate the small victories what can we do?!

I'm still managing the increased water intake and I'm just about to nip to the gym for my second visit this week.

I'm getting BF a collection of presents for his 30th, I can't wait to see his face as he's wanted a lot of them for ages! Thankfully with his birthday being when it is it means I've got loads of reduced price stuff in the sales :T

Just a quick stop by, off to workout now :j

  • Not much to report - pay day is next week and my spending CC resets on the 26th of the month so I feel my money situation is on hold really until then. Im sticking to my meal plan for the next couple of weeks which *should* keep my spending down. Saying that I've only kept one eye on what I've spent on BF's birthday presents so that will be a fair chunk. I'm not overly concerned yet for this year's finances. It'll go on my February list of things to do so until then I won't worry!

My daily water intake is still at my 1L minimum and I've ticked off my two visits to the gym for last week. My aim is to go 10 times this month so ideally I should go three times this coming to week. I pledge to go on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday! Hopefully writing it down again will make me go!!!

    Hi debtfreeby30,

I'm subscribing, sounds like we have some similarities to our story. I have 16 months until I'm 30 but sadly don't think I'll quite be debt free by then! Still, it's always heartening to see that other people have been through similar things and we can support and inspire each other! Good luck

    Hi LCC :hello:

Wow our stories do sound quite similar judging by your signature - after my first LBM I got from just under £10k down to £1000 left to pay and then we bought the house and my debts have crept back up again. I need to get my head back into the debt slaying game as I've definitely lost momentum since July-ish last year (which is when we bought the new place). I've started meal planning again and hope to maybe restart my NSD targets each month come 1st February.

It was payday today, I've moved all my pennies around my accounts and I'm not looking too bad. Need to keep my spending down for the rest of this month otherwise February won't be so nice :o

Looking to get to the gym tomorrow and I've been keeping to my at least 1L of water a day NY resolution :j
