open nationwide again

Hi,

I used to have a nationwide flex plus but closed it after the 5% was up.

Have people managed to open one again and get 5% again a year later? Is it a year you have to wait? I'm not up to a year yet but wondered as I'm planning.

    I think you mean FlexDirect.

Since the 5% account was launched on 1st March 2013, and unless they closed it early for some strange reason(!), no-one will have yet passed the anniversary of closure.

i'm just closing my FlexDirect account, YB, as transferring to Yorkshire Bank....the strange reason being i'd rather have £150 than 2 remaining months, generating a max of £20.83-tax.

Read the most current information on their website and though shalt understand why leaving 12 months between closing your last FlexDirect and opening a new one might be a smart thing to do. But you might not care about interest, in which case you can be un-smart and never close your last FlexDirect.

fair enough colsten...dropping to 1% is better than nothing (as paid on many current accounts) but hardly appealing..
