Hi All,

I think I broke my two year old Vax cylinder vacuum cleaner. It started sputtering on Christmas Day and smoking and blowing out. Now it doesn't work. I took the top layer apart and suspect that I didn't have the main vent correctly in position so that stuff went into the motor area. I've not ventured to unscrew to look inside. Any suggestions for this dumbo, short of 'phoning Vax.:(
Thanks

We bought a new Vax just today, comes with 2 year waranty. You need proof of exact purchase and whatever you do don't indicate you think you are responsible as you already have done here.;);)

Also most towns have a vac repair shop, our's does just Dyson and Vax, may be of use if manf waranty is out.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Small locals will probably give you a free quotation. One near us did for me, twice. One was repaired and the other deemed not worth mending.

It is worth checking how long your guarantee was. My mums 2 year old vax broke earlier in the year and much to my surprise it had a 5 year guarantee. They were very helpful on phone and sent a new part quickly.

The length of guarantee seems to vary from product to product. A random check of a couple on their web site came up with some with a 2 year guarantee and some with a 6 year guarantee.

    Hi All,
Thanks for the replies, especially cyclonebri1. Mine has a 6 year guarantee, but I can't find whether I registered it which would be unusual for me.

don't think it should matter whether you register or not if you have proof of purchase.
