#Mandate a cut in CO2 output of 80% in the next 16 years - well they are the Green Party

#Disallow EU funding of certain political parties because they have beliefs the Greens dislike - at least that would protect us from ourselves

#Allow children to take part in European Parliament debates - there have been 'childrens' parliament-type things since when I was a child. I can imagine the Greens thinking that this is a good way to make young people feel that they have a voice etc. And I expect children think about 'green issues' in a more similar way to the Green Party.

#Make Cornish people an ethnic minority - I guess many Cornish people feel they have a separate identity to the rest of the UK and that Cornwall should be a separate country. On this basis, I think it's made it's way into a policy somewhere.

#Nationalise all utilities, trams, trains and buses - of all of them I think this is the most likely to be a Green policy. And I'm sure I've seen the local Green Party in town collecting signatures for renationalisation of the railways.

    That leaves me with this:
#Allow parents 23 months pat/maternity leave per child paid at 90% of salary
Which surely is just too ridiculous....?

I think it is to allow children to take part in debates.

So <drrrrrrrrrrum rrrrrrroll> StevieJ came closest to being right. He got the right policy but for the wrong reasons:

Mandate a cut in CO2 output of 80% in the next 16 years

Actually the Green Party want to see a fall of 90% in CO2 output by 2030. In addition they would like to have a balanced budget while restricting GDP growth to 0 and increasing welfare spending and setting up a Green Bank which would finance workers to buy up the companies they work for so they can become workers' co-operatives.

When so many of the UK's/ world's problems are blamed on oil, why is reducing CO2 emission such a bad objective? Germany have done very well producing a lot of their electricity needs on renewable sources.
    Peace.

No, not the green party, it is actually going to be launched by the tory party as a pre-emtive strike against the labour party, who are rumoured to be considering demanding that dogs pay tax. At the moment of course all dogs enjoy tax free income, which is why I pay most of my earnings to my Labrador Ozzie, who works part time for us as a watchdog.

I made no claim as to whether it's a good or a bad thing, it's just a quiz question.

Personally, I think a 95% target has more headline appeal.

    These Greens....they lack ambition :)

Why do you say Germany has done well by producing renewable energy?
What evidence or criteria are you using?

Germany's energy prices are the highest in Europe.

Their solar panel industry has gone bankrupt.

Suppose I could generate a quiz on UKIP policy which would be far more entertaining since the far more shocking answers might actually have some truth to them.

My guess is that the Greens don't want the EU to fund Fascist parties or possibly countries to leave the EU? Would you like to pay someone who wishes to undermine your rights and very existence?
