Overstaying in a Private Eye parking in Scotland

I really cannot believe I just did this as I'm usually a stickler for rules but the last few weeks have been especially taxing and I wasn't thinking straight...
Anyway I overstayed in a TkMaxx car park run by Parking Eye and their automatic Number plate recognition cameras. So I'm waiting to receive the dreaded fine. I am not the registered keeper of the car I was driving. How should we proceed?

Assuming this is not hired or leased...
Keeper liability does not apply in Scotland so the keeper should appeal.
Dear ParkingEye, I am. Appealing as the keeper. I was not the driver and keeper liability does not apply in Scotland. Please therefore cancel the charge. Any further correspondence other than to cancel the charge will be regarded as harassment and complaints lodged with the DVLA regarding inappropriate use of data.
If there is any proof the keeper can use to show they were not the driver, post up here and we will advise whether to include or not.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
Not a fine and not Private Eye!What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

You're right, it's Parking eye. Told you I'm not really well at the moment. More hassle is all I need. There is no proof really as the RK was just at home.... Will this suffice?0

As hoohoo says, the keeper is safe to appeal saying they were not driving and I would add to the sentence 'Please therefore cancel the charge, which is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss in any case, especially as the occupants of the car were shopping in TKMAXX.' (plus attach the 'passengers' receipt if there is one). That should get it cancelled - and/or complain to TKMAXX, the Store manager only of course, not some boy or girl on the CS desk dealing with returns.
Or just ignore it as it's Scotland.
What you don't do is say who was driving, nor do you pay or offer any money!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Best thing is to simply ignore them in Scotland. I know someone with a few tickets from them. They just make the threats more dire, threaten you under English law and have DRP tell you how naughty you are. Then they stop writing.0

Yes, they do that to people in Ulster, Isle of Man and Channel Islands too.0

As you are in scotland, save your valuable time and just ignore the scammers, but dont waste the pulp they post to you, shredded it makes a lovely warm bed for a pet hampster, on the other hand keep it incase you run out of bog paper, one never knows when you could get caught short. :money:PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0
