Hi there.
Want to renovate my hall, ive already posted pics of the walls in this thread here:

I need to access the celing but its high!! Any ideas on a decent ladder/ platform solution.?
Was looking at this

Or this

Not sure the latter one would be tall enough unless I could have the bottom part on a step, and not a landing (Would that make it unsafe?)
Anyone famiiiar with such ladders please?

i think theyre called 'combination ladders'
was thinking of buying the 3x9 rung version of this, and one of ther platforms that can be fitted on too

good idea?0 -
I made a simple platform out of plywood. It's a bit like the wooden steps you may get outside a caravan, but then you put it upside down on the stairs, and what was the bottom is now a platform on the top.
Then i just use a standard stepladder to sit on the platformLiverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I've used a similar combi step as shown in the 2nd piccy for years. Makes changing light fittings over the stairs reasonably easy. But.
If like me you really don't like the possibility of a fall you won't feel comfortable. But the alternatives are really expensive for casual DIY use.
Bottom line, get one, but don't ever use it without someone footing the bottom end
( Yes, you can use it on a tread, hence the comment above,;);))I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
