when I first worked shifts my favourite was 2 til 10 pm - nice slow start to the day, time for a few chores and maybe a beer or pub lunch on the way in, then still time to go out after shift ended.

Night shift every time. Less hassle from people asking daft questions.
  • I'm for night shift....less management.:)

I finished working early, specifically to avoid night shifts (fit only for thieves, prostitute and coppers).
The rest are all OK, but 0730 to 1530 is a shift of true joy.

I much prefer an early shift 8 - 2 but actually usually work 06:30 - 17:30. In reality i would like to leave work completely and do all the things at home that never get done...cleaning etc.
  • I do 11:30 - 20:30 at the moment.. I'd much rather do the 8:00-17:30 that my store does instead though. Public transport is naff for getting home at the time I finish.. Only perk is off peak train fares.

The old store I worked in did 6:00-15:00 shifts. I'd love to do that shift now.

    Afternoon/Evening shift, so say 2/3 till 10pm.

I can't do the early morning shifts because of side effects of my medication, so these shifts are better for me as i'm much more alert. Plus my managers like having me on these shifts as i'v been told i'm good at them :o

  • Just come off a heavy month of nights 9-6 after not doing that shift for a while. Reverse lifestyle. If you fancy a couple of beers you have them early in the morning. Then sleep it off.

Hard for the first few nights but fine after that.

    Favourite shift-probably 6-2.

Did nearly 9 years of 2-10 used to like that shift, hate nights 6-2 dont like winter mornings at 5am snow etc on cars. Now work 8-5 or 6 if i didnt run my sons football team now i would be looking for 2-10 shift work again.
