I suppose it depends on how often and what type of things members wanted to do. They met once a week at a pub and she went out a lot of theater trips and meals out.
I believe you can join for 6 months at a time rather than paying out for the whole year's membership.0 -
It sounds like there might be a niche market for someone to get something going in competition. I am not sure I want to join an old fashioned club as it probably attracts an older clientel, not that there is anything wrong with that, I would just like to be a bit more proactive than I am at the moment.0

Frankie, I know several people who've been in Nexus at one time or another and they all speak highly of it. Internet dating? As someone said, the odds are good but the goods are often odd. Good luck..................

Errata, so true and so funny, not into internet dating now as have decided its not what I am looking for.....but having spent my summer holiday with my children I decided that we were all doing as we normally do, me being the parent they being the children, they embarrased by me if I talked to anyone or made friends etc. so sometimes found it difficult being myself0

Take a gamble and join Nexus for 6 months, you have to make a start somewhere !.................

its very true, I am awaiting a response to an email I sent to the local organiser, to see how active the club are, but as it appears inexpensive I would be prepared to give it a go. There is another club called IVC but that looks like its only suitable for 20-30 years olds, and whilst my mind is there my body isnt0

This is a great idea - I'm a Lion in trhe West Midlands and enjoy all sorts of activities with the club such as raising money for good causes and doing lots of social activities as well.
One club in the West Mids has the motto - 'where there are no strangers - just friends you have yet to meet'
Sums up Lions Brilliantly!!!

Seriously Salsa dancing is a great way of meeting new people, its not too difficult to learn if you have a little rhythm and lots of single people go, the instructor was rather scrummy too
