Hankook are very good. As are Kumho.
Though in a size like that I would personally put on Michelin.
Had Continentals Contacts on the wifes Clio and they wore out quickly.
Dunlop Blue Response are also very goo.0 -
The wife's Mk6 Golf Bluemotion is currently wearing 195/15 winter Nokian WR D3s. Unbelievably good tyres
Normally wears 205/16s made by Continental summers which are fine, no issues.0 -

Hope you all had a merry Christmas and a soon to be happy new year
Following on from my last thread, my car is booked in for a cambelt change and full service at the VW dealership in early january.
My front 2 tyres (have not been changed since new) was also recommended for a change. The tread has gone down to 3mm. The tyres as from new were Continentals Eco Contacts. Dealer has charged me £80 for each tyre. They will only supply me the Continentals. A friend of mine tells me that's absolutely ridiculous and that I can get tyres else where for half the price although they will not be Continentals.
When I went to the VW dealer the last time, I queried why I should stick with the Continentals and the sales assistant told me its best to keep all four tyres the same brand and that Continentals are very good tyres and going for cheaper ones may not provide the same levels of grip. Are the dealers trying to scam me or is he telling the truth? Shall I just stick with the dealers recommendations ?
Is it the dealer telling porkies?0 -
3mm will last a long time on the back axle.0

Took me a while this time too, I clocked on the third thread.
I was a bit tanked up over Christmas so that's my excuse.
At least this time DM admitted he doesn't own an S-Line after all those pics of the scrap yard/ garden.
Quite sad how their feel the need to waste everyone's time with their BS threads.0 -

Yeah, I had my suspicions immediately, thought I'd try the direct approach and ask him if he was DM, but he denied it. Glad his lies unravelled themselves as usual.0 -

I think he realised he was too subtle this time, so wrote the thread about the M3 CSL.
I get the feeling he is an attention-seeking young lad whose family/friends of family have some nice cars and are mildly successful. However he isn't and gets the hand me downs, hence his brothers brother (:)) gave him an A3 on it's last legs.
Kinda pathetic when you think about it.0 -
