Hi i need to get a new tv i use my computer screen as a tv as it has a tv card/aerial in it.
i'm looking at £400-£600 range
I love technology but not caught up for a long time
1. What features should i definitely get or be looking for?
2. i would like to be able to record tv, i don't have sky or cable just free view.
3. i would like to get on with external speakers like a cinema surround experience if possible in the price range.
4. the quality of the screen is very important as i wear glasses hence why i am not going for the cheaper market in case the colours are horrible and hurts my eyes.
With the sales now on WHERE should i be looking?
Help

Almost all the Which? best buy TVs in your price range are Samsung. These 48" ones score very highly:
UE48H6500 £549
UE48H6400 £529
This is a 32":
UE32H6400 £379
Regarding reliability, Panasonic is top, closely followed by Sony then Samsung. Technika is worst by a large margin.0 -

ok, but please suggest which one, sound and display is very important as both on what i currently use is really top notich for saying it isn't a hd screen. has BBE digital and dolby surround sound so i dont like to listen to crap sounds or display is terrible or doesn't display things nicely i can change how it looks on my screen. My Signature is MY OWN!!0 -

I'm going to be following these two guides which seem fairly up to date with the latest things to look for:
http://www.techradar.com/news/television/tv-buying-guide-2014-1271407
http://www.techradar.com/news/television/hdtv/10-best-42-inch-hdtvs-in-the-world-today-657803
To summarise those two articles:
It's a bit too soon to bother with 4K unless you really want to spend thousands of pounds. Curved TV's are a gimmick. 3D and Plasma are dead. Make sure you find out about what type of LED screen you're getting - avoid "IPS".0 -
