I read the sticky first

Yep! I read the sticky first.

This credit rating that I don't have because there's no such thing has just downgraded me to a poor risk.

I only advised them of a small correction in my favour on their files.

I suppose I'm 'asset rich, cash poor' like most of us in later life, and I've taken no credit for anything for the last 20 years or so, never ever missed a mortgage payment or agreement payment of any sort, always paid my CT and utilities and never left a property with anything owing, having just moved I show up on their files as not being on the electoral roll at this address even though I have altered my records to my local council.

I have 3 current accounts with my bank, all of which have ample funds. I have another business account with Barclays, again with ample funds and a foreign account in Spain stuffed with Euros.

I can't get a car loan!

What hoops do I have to jump through to improve my (non-existent) rating?

  • Ignore the score. What are the key figures - your income, existing limits, existing debts, amount of loan and any negatives in your credit history. The electoral roll is one potential likely reason for decline.
