Address for the Möhne Dam?

Does anyone have an address for the Möhne Dam?

Web searches come up with directions, but not an actual address I can put into my Satnav.

    Quote from Tripadvisor:

To get to the dam from Soest, a taxi (late 2013) costs between €30 and €40 there and back, including a short wait at the dam so you can have a look round. The journey by taxi takes about a quarter of an hour each way. Soest taxi-rank is just outside the station. Alternatively, you can get a bus, but they don't run very often. There's a good information office inside Soest station.

    Yes and no.

Putting in 59519 gets me part way there, but it wants a street name, and Möhnesee isn't recognised.

The options are Mohnestraße, Mohnetal or Mohneufer.

Looking at Google Earth, the cafe/restaurant right beside the dam is:

    Möhnestraße 10, 59519 Möhnesee, Germany

That should get you close enough. The dam car park is just before it on the same side of the road.
  • Thanks pogofish.

    Using that gives me.

    Möhnestraße 10
    59519 Möhnesee -
    Gunne, Soest.

    I'm guessing that's the address.

I've visited the dam, but by coach, whereas next time, I'm expecting it to be in my own car.

I hear Lancasters used to do fly bys-but these were not popular with the locals:cool:

you could follow the signs from there; as it's 120 ft high and half a mile long you'll hardly miss it.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Yup - Putting that back into GE gets me exactly the same location, so you will be within a few hundred yards of the Dam.

    Here it is:
