Hi there
hope someone can help. I bought a new tablet off EBAY but cant seem to install anti virus security. Have tried AVG and AVAST but keeps saying parsing error! Emailed seller and they say to try other software but not which one. The tablet is ALL WINNER A31S QUAD CORE KIT KAT. Have tried googling for compatible software but nothing coming up. I am not used to technical terms as pensioner which is why I could nt afford an expensive tablet. Any help would be appreciated hope you are all having a great xmas. Fingers crossed.

Are you downloading these from the Play store?0

You don't need an AV product0
-
Only need AV on a tablet or phone if you are using it for internet banking. Even then, I think it is overkill, although I do have Kaspersky on my phone.0

I disagree, first thing I did when I was given a Kindle Fire was to install AV software.
Rather overkill that underkill.0 -
Anti-virus on Android is nothing but a waste of resources, everything is sandboxed and you have to give software permission to do anything. Unless you root your device and download from pirate sites there is very little risk.0

My table works lightning fast after a year and I notice no performance issues caused by the AV.
Hacking and malware evolve all the time just because some perceive it safe now doesn't mean that won't change, and change quickly.
I won't change my mind about having it eitherAnd will continue to counter the arguments that it's not worth bothering about when people ask for advice.

Lockout is good on Android. I guess you're trying to run a Windows anti-virus product. That won't work - stick to the Google Play Store for apps for your tablet.0
