City Link RIP

What surprised me about this is that they are expecting people to go to their depots to pick up parcels. Can't they pay drivers one last day to make these deliveries? The receivers could pay out of their fee if there is no cash at all left.
If I was a (now ex-) City Link employee I don't think I would co-operate with allowing parcels to be collected from depots on Monday. I would prefer to keep depots shut until I was assured I was going to be paid for work I had done.0 -

It isn't a case of paying them 'one more day', some of the drivers I use have been told they won't be getting the last 2 weeks money.0 -

I charge £10 for next day, customers are always demanding that it should be cheaper, one called me a thief - but I have to pay to ship stuff, so they do.
Don't blame the customers, blame your fellow retailers. I buy alot of car parts online, and these suppliers are notorious for ripoff postage.
Ordered a rebuild kit for a part, it turned out to be a few bushes. Retailer charged £8 postage for something that weigh a few grams.
As always it is the dishonest sellers that ruin things for everybody else.0 -
Am l wrong in thinking that if you were waiting for a parcel currently in city links system that you purchased from a retailer it is the retailers responsibility to solve the delivery issue, as the contract is between the retailer and city link.
All you hear in the media is that how people will have to track their parcel to a depot, which could even be 100 miles away in a central sorting hub and go and collect it themselves.0 -
If it's at a depot near to you, you may as well go in and collect it."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

If you haven't received a delivery card then it's up to the retailer. Obviously it's an odd situation so, as above, if you have a tracking number and depot is near by go and see if it's there.paulofessex wrote: »Am l wrong in thinking that if you were waiting for a parcel currently in city links system that you purchased from a retailer it is the retailers responsibility to solve the delivery issue, as the contract is between the retailer and city link.
