merry christmas all,
i need to make space on my samsung s4 , so thought I would transfere photos over to laptop but how? I've no clue how to do this. I tried bluetooth and usb lead (unsure if i need a programme to do this?) . I have one drive on my laptop could I connect that somehow?
when i search the web i was advised to download kies air but my laptop blocked it.

I thought you just connect you phone to your laptop and do it that way, good luck.0

As above. Connect your phone to your laptop with a usb cable. Your laptop should see the phone as an external drive.0

As mentioned above connecting your phone to laptop is the easiest way to transfer data.
Another way is to install AirDroid on your phone and laptop - www.airdroid.com to download for your laptop and search Google Play to install on phone. You will then be able to transfer data wirelessly from phone to laptop and vise versa.0 -
Yep, connecting your phone to your laptop via USB will allow you to do it. Once Windows has finished installing the phone, you should see a message on your phone screen asking how your phone should behave whilst connected- select the option along the lines of 'Flash Drive' (haven't used Android in a while, so don't know the particular options). Soon enough, your phone should show up in Explorer (My Computer). Double-click on it and navigate the folders until you find the pictures you want and copy them to wherever you want them. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

I have dropbox installed on my phone, you can set it to upload all your photos to cloud storage immediately or wait and do the backup when the phone is on wifi.
Once the initial backup completes you can clear some space on the SD card.
Install dropbox on your PC and the pics are then available on your PC in the dropbox photo upload folder.
The same kind of feature comes with Microsoft Onedrive. Usually activating photo upload unlocks free extra storage space.
I like the fact that my phone photos are backed up daily, so will not all be lost if the SD card fails or my phone is lost.

I've got an older Samsung phone which expects Kies to be installed. I tried it but didn't like it. It seemed keen to take over my pc. If you have a micro sd card you could copy the photos to this then remove and connect to your pc.
Bluetooth should also work but requires the phone and pc to be matched.

Just to echo the above, only use Kies as the very, very last resort.
I worked on someones laptop that had it installed, they didn't even need it, Kies was everywhere.
Revouninstaller found nearly 2000 instances of it in the registry.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
I have drop box on my Samsung S111 so I signed up and linked it to my laptop, so far so good. I then uploaded a few pics from my phone this appears to be OK but I find they don't show up on my laptop!! then tried the process the other way round, dragged pics into drop box on laptop and all went fine and they do show up on my phone so why is it only working one way 'laptop to phone'
Can some one help thanks.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.0
