Parcels came again today and it was sons bday presents I ordered. Forgot to say, DH got a razor in the post yesterday and got my email from Dorset cereals confirming I've won a case of porridge!

Wingo you can have soup for free bun is a £1.:D Well done to your DH on razor was that the freebie one I am usually quite lucky with them will keep eye on post. Son gets them. You could combine your porridge with my soup and keep the Inn going through the cold weather lol. Well done on winning it takes a lot of patience trying to catch that nut I have given up.

Woke up this morning to everything outdoors covered in white. Looked lovely like a Christmas Card. Wasn't too bad going out to work this morning. Phoned the bus depot after lunch to check buses were still running, told they were and should be up to teatime. We were allowed to leave work earlier as weather was bad, when I went to get the earlier bus, some people who were at the bus stop said your last bus left 30 mins ago. Taxis were not running and if you did get one to answer their phone you were told there was at least 1 hour waiting. A man beside me at the bus stop did manage to book a taxi and I suggested 3 or 4 of us sharing it (all sharing the cost), we all lived nearby, the taxi said 1 person per taxi! They were really milking it.
Had to walk part of the way home, called into a taxi office when I got across from the city side. They had only 2 drivers on (usually 15), traffic was bumper to bumper. All in all it took me 3 hours 15 mins to get home (normally a 30 mins journey). Lucky the taxi man was a good driver and managed to get up steep hills even when the cars in front stuck and had to go back down again. After waiting 1 hour 30 minutes for the taxi, 4 people shared the taxi. It was a nightmare and the laugh was you would hardly see the snow on the road and pavements. There may have been ice in places as some lorries had accidents.
Sheils I hope you enjoy your holiday and weather stays good. Hear parts of Scotland have snow.
rosemac you have had terrible weather lately. You could start a soup kitchen, we would all be queuing up.
Well done to everyone who won prizes this week. I haven't won anything since the beginning of December.

Wow Dreams, what a hectic day you've had! That's shocking that the taxi driver wouldn't let you all in same taxi!

Dreams you have had a day and a half typical taxi drivers. Thing is in their defence if they are booked through an office they are not allowed to do multiple journeys because of booking system. Also passenger/driver safety
