Morning- last of the stuff got this morning from asda so we are on the home run now! Strangely I'm not feeling very Christmassy these last few days but it will come Im sure.
Free- its no wonder you are frazzled with everything that has gone on recently with your family, hopefully you will all be happy and healthily enough to enjoy Christmas (and that goes for everyone else who is under the weather). I feel a bit tearful too so you're not on your own- think DD summed it up well the other day when she said that it will be over before we can blink, then what will she be planning?? We all invest sooo much in Christmas that it can turn into a bit of an anti-climax.
Peppa- oh congratulations to honorary DD and her partner xx
Princesskitty29- hope u are all over your cold by Christmas so you can enjoy wiggles delight. I didn't see that programme but that is conspicuous consumption at its worst by the sound of it (although I am nosey enough to want to see what the uber rich spend their millions on!)
Whitesatin- Im all for cheats too- why make it harder on yourself than you have to? I want to be able to share in Christmas morning too- not be stuck in the kitchen for ages.
Vulpix- no wonder you are a bit overwhelmed at the mo- all that cleaning on top of Christmas prep is sure to be a massive drain on your energy levels. Im sure you will have a lovely time at your brothers x
Gettingtherequickly- enjoy your family break x
Feisty- glad you are relaxing, those pies sound yummy x
Mrs Moneypenny- when my DS had his jabs he passed out! He was mortified! I love pulling his leg about it now (he's 25 now)
3forholidays- I like its the most wonderful time of the year as like Fiesty It is true for me.
On google playstore the is an app to track the ISS. If you do download it be warned it can go off about 6 times a day at this time of year. (Im a bit geeky like that so I don't mind but it can be a nuisance).
Enjoy the next few days everyone xlovin' this site!

Hi everyone, Only 3 sleeps x
Well I have not done my to do list as got a phone call to go and help my gran out. Got plans today as we are all of to the panto. Ice skating is cancelled as there is fear of rain so took the kids to HB to get a stash of sugary drinks and sweets for panto lol x also got them all a light up christmassy thing. The eldest kid is my sister at 15 but she has got one too lol x
Its beginning to feel more christmassy now!
Going to have a take away and games night tonight as nephew goes home tomorrow. Hubby not feeling great still but he is going for his infusion tomorrow so we hope to see an improvement. He has had to work from home today.
Tomorrow will be a day in cleaning, changing beds and getting the final bits wrapped. When I was in HB I got my mum a big box of black magic chocolates as she loves them. Just going to add them to her haul.
off to feed the kids before we get going x
Big hugs and christmas sprinkles, will catch up properly later xx0 -
I'll probably be around most days but for those who are heading off to family and won't be on I will wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Enjoy the next few days whether it be the drinks, the food, the family, the friends, the solitude or any combination of those and I hope to see everyone on the new shiny thread (which I'm personally liking "It's the most wonderful time of the year" for by the way)

Yay my wrapping and prep is all done :j thought I would never get there.
All the food is bought and all ready to prep on Christmas Eve morning. I also cook the turkey and ham on Christmas eve. I slice it all and put it portions and cover with gravy and foil. Then I just put it in the oven to reheat while serving the dinner up. Works well and keeps the meat moist.
I do still need to get nibbles for Christmas eve. The kids want a buffet for tea lol. I'll see what's in the freezers and hopefully some nice reduced 3 for 2 Finest stuff in Tesco.
I've flaming lost Santasa Magic key. No idea why it wasn't in with the xmas decs. Not sure what I'll do. We don't have a chimney and the kids believe Santa needs a magic key to get in:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Nic does it have to be THAT key, or would an improvised version of an old key coated in perhaps nail polish and glitter with a nice red ribbon and a similar poem printed onto a label do for this year?
Magic Santa key
No chimney?
No fireplace?
No problem!
Simply place this magic Santa key by your front door on Christmas Eve.
This will allow Santa to magically unlock your door.
(Wording borrowed from my key)
Maybe Santas elves could leave one for you as they noticed yours was missing?SPC~12 ot 124

I guess by then they will be to excited to care. I do have some old keys I could glitter. The one we had was quite big and very ornate with Santa's face carved in. I'll improvise. X:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

Good evening everyone. I can't believe I haven't been on here in ages. Been so busy here I haven't had a chance to get near a compute for longer than 10mins
On the plus side it has been worth it as I'm officially finished for Christmas:T bar a couple of presents to be wrapped - which will be done tomorrow - I'm done :j
Think this is the 1st time in history we've been so organised
Kids are going out with Granny and granda tomorrow so can get the few bits and pieces I need to wrap up for them done, DH has finished work for Christmas also so his plan is to set up the few things Santa needs to deliver. Thankfully there's not much of it, so it shouldn't take long, and we can pop them in the outside storage shed for the night until Thursday. Everything else will be put into big boxes where possible so it's less for us to carry on the night lol.
After that it's mopping the floors, wipe down the worktops and hoover downstairs and that's us ready.
Graveyard duties on Christmas Eve morning then back to the house to get bathed, relax in front of the TV for a movie or two, play a few board games then dress kids in their Christmas Day clothes for Christmas Eve mass Then home, open one present then bed
Hopefully I'll be on again before the big day, but just in case. I hope each and every one of you have a lovely, safe and Happy Christmas and and Healthy and Happy New Year!! xxxPay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
mrs-moneypenny that's why I said it wasn't meant to sound like a lecture because I didn't want you to think I was calling you judgemental, I think it's a bit of a shock to us money savers when you see how much someone can spend on these things! I was exactly the same. X
04624181 this is the recipe: http://www.baby.co.uk/life_and_home/edible-christmas-gifts-chocolate-crunchie-fudge/ I left out the icing sugar and it was really lovely. Very welcome gift by others too! I hope your DH feels better soon.
freespirit thank you I will try to search for that programme.
mrsivisible I always imagine you running around in a whirlwind! I hope you manage to get the food sorted, i'm sure it will be lovely. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
mandco yes I keep getting that feeling, we build up to it all year then panic because it's nearly over! I do have a little come down but soon perk up by buying bits in the sales and planning for the following year!
nic ah we saw the ISS the other night, what a great sight, I couldn't really believe what I was looking at. It's a great idea to say it's Father Christmas!
Oh Clumsy I do worry about you!
whitesatin fab charity shop bargains! Have a lovely time with your grandchildren.
Peppapig what fabulous news about your DD and DSIL! I will keep everything I have crossed for them. Have a lovely time with your grandchildren. I did freespirit's idea of cooking the turkey on Christmas Eve last year and reheated it on Christmas day and it worked really well. It certainly look some of the stress out of Christmas day!
vulpix oooh how exciting! What a fun job for your DH. I was on the readio once as I was doing something for charity and I must admit it was very weird hearing myself! It was also scary chatting live, I didn't want to waffle! Try to enjoy someone else hosting this year, see it as a rest! Then in the new year you can get planning your own Christmas for 2016!
It's funny because a lot of people have been saying the closer we get to Christmas day the less Christmassy they feel, my friend text me yesterday asking for help as she'd lost her Christmas mojo! I think for us who love it and plan all year we go into panic mode that it's going to come and go really quickly and we feel sad that it's nearly all over. But we still have the big day to go: family, friends, stockings, presents, food, drink, games and the Queen's speech!
I'm all wrapped and ready EXCEPT for my parents cross stitch picture. I've finished it, I just need to frame it but we're off to the parents-in-law today so I can't do it until the afternoon of the 27th – the day before my parents come down! No matter how organised I am I ALWAYS have something to do last minute. Next year will be different! I say that every year but it really will! I've got lots to do this morning as we've got to pack up to head off to spend Christmas with family, once i'm there i'm going to relax. Well as much as you can relax with a 16-month-old in tow!
And for those who won't be on here again before I with you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. I hope everyone is feeling better by then and everyone is in good health. :xmassign::xmastree::xmassmile0 -
