Kiwi and Mrs Moneypenny- yes he is fine, a nasty bump and cut to the knee and an even bigger dent to his pride and pocket! Car has been written off as expected and because its less than his £1000 excess he will get nothing back plus he has to continue to pay out £163 a month for the next 9 months on a car he doesn't have! We have spent the last few hours looking at the most cost effective way of getting him back on the road- and its not looking good!

Princesskitty- glad wiggle is doing well now, a decent nights sleep is worth more than gold sometimes isn't it?! I ordered that fleece last year for mom (she has a really unusual name that you can never find on run of the mill personalised stuff). The fleece is lovely but the actual personalised printing isn't very nice in my option - plasticky iykwim. Having said that, it does wash ok and doesn't come off even when put in the tumble drier.

Feisty - I wouldn't bother spending out on a movie hamper, my kids wouldn't want (and are never at home for!) a family movie night and they are 19 and 25. I think probably something like a bottle of M&S wine would be something they could all benefit from or a posh box of half price biscuits from M&S if they aren't drinkers.
Nothing Christmassy today I'm afraid :(
    lovin' this site!

KiWi - Not wrapping the presents? But it's half the joy of the experience! I like the way my mum does it. Since we were all little she has been handing out a present to us each one at a time. When we were younger she told us who it was from and made sure we each had something to open at the same time (my 2 siblings, my dad and herself). This was mainly because she needed to know who got what from who for thank you letter purposes! She still does it to this day (and I'm the youngest at 22) and it just makes the whole experience last longer. Can't imagine just sitting and ripping open all the presents in 5 minutes flat! :D

    Evening everyone,

RUTHHONEY oh i have seen the christmas at lilac cottage one i havent seen or heard of the other one, i was going to pre-order Trishas Christmas Cracker and Caroles Chocolate Lovers Christmas but i cant make my mind up whether to actually buy the paperback and not the kindle version, i know it sounds silly but i love the christmas covers and i miss that on my kindle :D I saw on twitter about the get together, its no good for me i cant even go into town on my own let alone London haha, i hope you have a lovely time there! I told my DD1 earlier she thought it was absolutely brilliant (i wouldnt be surprised if she talked me into it now haha) i used to when they were little we always used to have the house decorated and a special halloween tea but then they grew into adults and bu**ered off out and i was left to answer the blooming door all night, so i got rid of all my stuff! She has talked work into letting them decorate their desks for the week before and dressing up as well :rotfl::rotfl:I cant see my library doing anything like that it is the tiniest village library ever and the book choice is not very good!

MRSMONEYPENNY yep my lot do exactly the same, just as i think a good job done the next minute its overflowing again!

PEPPAPIG hope you are feeling better today!

!!!!!! ooh thankyou will nip on after here :)

CLUMSY well "bl**dy hell Harry" as Ron would say, i never knew that, i have just searched and they are charging double the price!!

KIWI aww bless him! Im kinda hoping Thumper will be dino mad too! You wait he probably wont be interested now :rotfl:I will never forget i made Rocky Road one year to take to my sisters, a la Nigella, and she sprinkles icing sugar over and arranges plastic deer over it, so i did this, then my cute little nephew came in and planted a couple of his dinosaurs on it :rotfl::rotfl:hence my fixation on little boys and dinosaurs. The only dinosaur my DS was into was blooming Barney when he was little :D I actually cant believe that people would not wrap presents for kids, i have never heard of anyone doing this. It just takes away all the magical excitement for them :(

PRINCESSKITTY aww that is good to hear, glad he is getting back to himself, and how fab another decent night for you! I think i am a little bit sad actually there are over 4k pins on my pinterest, i really need to get a life! :D

NIKKI ooh thankyou for that i cant wait :)

Not wrapping kids presents? That's madness! I do understand taking off the cardboard packaging and putting batteries in ready, but they need to be wrapped up. It prolongs the fun.

Freespirit-if you are ok to get to Gants Hill, you're welcome to come along with me. I understand if you think it's too much for you, though. Totally get the kindle v paperback debate. I especially love the covers of Christmas books. Especially if they're all sparkly.

Feisty – Money Missions hamper/night in idea might be the easiest way to go – can spend a little without making it look too cheap but yet still save plenty of pennies for wee one. If they can’t appreciate anything you do / buy for them then I wouldn’t be wasting money trying to make them happy – not worth it in my opinion. Also love the wallpaper – I went mad this year and have dog wallpaper and its light grey so we went with magnolia as the yellow we had already up was just too bright for the shade.

What that be this dog wallpaper?

This is technically the nursery, but I'm using it as a work room at the moment as it was the first room in the house almost finished :rotfl:

Morning all, I haven't been on since Thursday and missed lots! M&S seem to be ramping up the Christmas shop now then - also they have online orders return period as of September so I'll be looking out for the 20/25% off codes as soon as possible and of course let you all know :)
I agree with everyone else about presents, they have to be wrapped - unless it's like a train set or something...which I think I've seen in a Christmas film!
I can't believe we're only 79 days until Christmas now, I think I need to do an Autumn-clean thing too which shouldn't take too long inside but I'm just not looking at the garden, the cat thinks she's in the Serengeti with the length of the grass!
The Oktoberfest was lovely and festive, like Winter Wonderland on steroids so it's got me in the Christmas mood. Although I'm going to Mallorca next weekend for 2 days to finalise wedding plans and it's over 20 degrees so I'll need to get the summer clobber down from the loft again which is a bit annoying. The thought of wearing shorts again :( probably have to shave the legs too now, the hair is almost as long as the grass lol
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:
