So as far as I understand it the 6 yrs counts from the date of the last payment, well what if you didnt agree to the payment, what if it was a refund, does the clock start over?HTB = Help to Bubble.0

OP, I'm not sure you understand how lending works. Are you aware that you are supposed to pay back what you borrow?0

So a creditor on a debt which is almost statute barred has refunded some interest or charges reducing what is owed? And you want to know if that has restated the 6 year clock again? No it doesnt. It must be a payment made by you.Still rolling rolling rolling......

Thanks so much, you settled my mind at ease.HTB = Help to Bubble.0 -
You musn't acknowledge the debt though, so don't contact them.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

If they sent you a cheque and you cashed it I could see this as you acknowledging the debt, hence resetting the timer. If they have just adjusted the balance owed then it wouldn't be.0

Was the letter about incorrect annual statements? If it was, the standard penalty that they have to pay is to cancel all interest for each year covered by an incorrect statement. That could be all interest ever charged. It's possible that this is more than the amount you still owed them so it has both paid off the debt and left money over for them to send to you.0

I think they are just trying to get me to start the clock again, but I will ignor them.HTB = Help to Bubble.0
