Which New PC

Hi a neighbour is getting a new pc but is unsure on what to get she doesn't want to buy online unless it is the likes of Asda etc. or maybe Dell ( my thought)
Her limit would be around £350 and the pc would be for general browsing stuff and her course work.
I have XP pro word that she will be using on it hopefully if it isn't too out of date
She is an OAP too
any ideas, suggestions and advice would be lovely
Thank you

Many people upgrade or buy something way over spec when there is no need.
From what you put a 10 year old PC will probably do everything they need.
I hate Dell with a passion. As i repair and upgrade for friends and family they are a nightmare.
They have custom cases and odd sized boards to make upgrading difficult. Then they lock the BIOS ram timings so only the stuff they sell works properly.
The RAM will have no names on so you dont know what to upgrade or replace it with.
Spent a week trying different brands and speeds of RAM in a D (H)ell machine. It will work fine then suddenly fait to boot. Refit the original memory and all is well.
From the little info you put any machine thats £200 or so should do the job.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
