Linked Addresses - Credit Report

I recently signed up to see my credit report and was shocked to see under the heading 'Linked Addresses' that there is an unknown address listed as my address for Birmingham and my actual address is listed as a linked address.


I have never had any connections with any persons or business in Birmingham and after searching online, appears to be a private residence.


I contacted the credit report provider who suggested I contact EE who were the source of this incorrect information. I have sent a letter to the EE credit referral department as they suggested by registered post detailing my concern but have so far heard nothing.


Meanwhile a 'B1' note has been placed in my Linked Addresses section saying that I have queried the accuracy of the information.


Very worried why/how this has happened.


What can I do, please?

Sounds like you're doing it the right way.
When I had an incorrect linked address on CallCredit they just removed it straight away.
How long since you sent the letter?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I sent the letter to EE on 12th December. Not sure how long these things take to correct.

I might have to give CallCredit a go, if they were able to sort it out on your behalf directly. Experian said they couldn't amend the record themselves.

Fundamentally, I don't understand where this incorrect address came from. My actual address is listed as a linked address and the unknown private address is listed as my main address...

CallCredit will only help if it's on your CallCredit report, if it's on your Experian report, Experian will have to deal with it
