Same problem - Abbey are prefectly happy to take £1850 a month input to basic account and pay no interest but still wont upgrade after using them for 2 years - 'the computer says no' - heard that before - off to Nat West in next hour as access to money can not get worse.

Gordonliverpool - as mentioned I received details from FD - the terms and conditions and application form to sign - still not sure if account has been fully accepted though - did phone them today and they advised that they did not require any further ID from myself and that the account would be set up in 7 days.

I am taking it that this has been accepted.

Thanks for help - went to COOP and got Visa Electron / Debit Card - took about 15 mins - gave me what I have been asking Abbey to do for 2 years. Abbey can now go on spending 8 million every 2 years on refurbishments without my help.
