This is the one that is currently doing the rounds as well. Please i am sorry you are a bit far from me now, The bike is still available and i am not selling it, i just wanted to offer it to someone who could make good use of it, Suffering from osteoarthritis, my doctor advised me to stop using the bike and moreover i fell from it and had some bruises . But i am afraid you are far from me.This ad was posted more 2 weeks ago because i wanted to relocate to littlehampton, the Moderator delay in publishing the ad and i left. I am presently in 13 Meadow Way Littlehampton but if you are interested you can come and pick it up or alternatively you could get the bike via courier. If that is Ok with you let me know.
This is the message that we tag to all the messages on our board now.A message from your moderators:
Never send money for a courier, it's probably a scam. If in doubt contact your friendly moderators at ........
As has been said, Freecycle/Freegle, the items are offered free, anything else is a scam.0 -
AFAIK most groups have given their members a warning to never pay for anything and that this form of scam is around.
Problem is, the members never read the admins.0 -
So, it is like a tax on stupidityI am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0

Unfortunately not all the people that use Freecycle or Freegle are firing on all cylinders or computer literate and could not see a scam if it had SCAM in big flashing letters on every 2nd line.
NO amount of admins, emails & warnings to them is enough to get the message through.
IN the end, it just ends up as the groups fault & they leave because they fell for a scam so it must be Freecycle/Freegle's fault0 -
Oh lawks, that is so true, if the number of "WANTED: XBOX ONE PLUS GAMES" postings on FC or Freegle are anything to go by: Do they really think that these are given away?
Frankly I am not surprised that when they offered one with only £10 postage they will leap at it like the sheep/lemmings that they are. So sad.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0
