Three mobile ... cancelling contract nightmare
Comments
-
Within a week of serving notice I started getting chargeable texts, they claim I had subscribed to "premium" text services.
They claim I had switched on premium services on the phone ? !!!!!! ??
How very odd, no issues in two years and then £40 in bogus texts charges in two days.
They certainly have made sure I know never to use them again.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Have a few kids then you'll know the answer
There are ways to give children access to a smart phone without giving them a contract subscription.
There are ways to let children play games without giving them carte blanche access to your credit card.
All of these ways involve something called "parenting".Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Even simpler for a network to flag a user if their bill goes over £3,454,565,457,785,313,566
They simply CHOOSE not to because they are scum sucking leeches and should be hanged in public as an example - any sensible arbitrator would see that for what it is and charhe the parents £50 (realistic liabilty for taking their eye of the phone) and make the provider suck the balance up for KNOWINGLY exacerbating the situationWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -

Yes its not very hard to give them access to the iTunes account, set up a guest account or get them a cheap smartphone and don't link a card to it.0 -
You dont have to link a card now with three.
They have recently automatically turned on the in app purchases and text link purchases that bills directly to the phone bill.
Call them and find out and demand they switch it off.
See what answer you get...I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
In app purchases having nothing directly to do with the network provider - this is the responsibility of the relevant App Store who may offer a premium billing option. All texts outwith any inclusive allocation will either decrement any stored credit or be billed to a contract account. Nothing has really changed - any third party can send you a text and charge you, irrespective of network, leaving you to chase up any discrepancy yourself.0
