Getting Ebay to pay for a return.

I've heard some people managed to get ebay to give them a free returns label. How does one go about this?
I bought an item off a business seller that doesn't work and am loathe to have to pay for postage to return something that didn't fit it's description in the first place!
Any help greatly appreciated!

Has the seller refused to pay the return then?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ebay has said the seller should pay for the return but the seller has ignored my email requesting this. Not sure what step to take next!0

If the item does not fit the description then the seller has to take it back at their own expence
Problem is that "does not meet the description" can be subjective in some cases
In those cases the seller could quite reasonably argue that the description IS correct
Which then needs an arbitrator to decide who is right
I had a coin returned 'not as described' despite me posting it with larger than life photos of both sides (they could see exactly what i could see) - I could've argued but I took it back and paid the return postageWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -

Assuming you have given the seller a reasonable chance to respond (and more than half of the business selelrs I know have been closed for Christmas for a few days) then you need to open a SNAD claim for any chance of getting a returns label. A return label is not guaranteed so you will need to be prepared to return it at your own cost. Depending on the size and object though that could cost you as little as £2.78 tracked with MyHermes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ah ok thank you. I seem to have opened a return request rather than a SNAD so now I cannot open one. I think I will just have to suck it up this time and pay for the return but at least I'll know for next time! I will look into myhermes thank you0

That's a shame, however- once you have returned the item and have a refund there is nothing at all stopping you from asking the seller again to refund the return costs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
