Christmas Period New and Used Car Offers

Looking for a replacement car, not certain what we may want and therefore casting a very wide net.

Interested if anyone might care to post any make/dealer offers they may see in this thread as certain others may be in the same boat and have an interest.

Basics for me are manual, diesel, possible estate but interested to see if any bargains about. May be interested in new or used dependent on deals and/or offers. Maybe willing to pay new prices for example if a 0% APR might be available. Also interested in any minimum part exchange offers as we have a 2006 Astra SRi Estate to trade in on any potential deal.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might take the time to post and if anyone else has anything they might be interested in in the replacement car area then please add and why.

Probably too late for that, but would be handy to set base prices.

OP if you want a deal you will probably have to finalise and take delivery before the end of the month. Can you do that?

If not you have missed the boat.

If you can you will have to get on the phone and trawl dealers in an ever increasing area. And of course if they have no stock then they cam't do a deal.

If you see 0%, min part ex or any other offer like that on a used car run away, the car will be overpriced to compensate so you'll end up paying for it. If you want a genuine offer like that then you need to buy new as these are subsidised by the manufacturer. The only downside here is the depreciation it will suffer, but if you're going to keep it a while then it's not too bad.

Most manufacturer offers will finish at the end of each quarter, sometimes they continue sometimes they are replaced according to how well they are doing.

The best bargains will be on models that are due to be replaced in the coming months. You will then get a decent discount as well as any subsidised finance rate.

Once you've decided on the model you want go to a site like carwow who will can find the best deals nationally with very little effort from you. You can then use these quotes to beat up your local dealer.
  • Thanks for the comments. Cash available plus current car for trade in so happy to see what may be available in stock and find a bargain. Realise you don't normally get something for nothing and prices will probably be adjusted accordingly but eyes most definitely wide open.

Not got our sights set on anything in particular so if we see something we like we can go for it straightaway and hence why hopeful that someone may see some good deals out there

Currently favouring Hyundai Santa Fe, Vauxhall Antara or a Focus Estate but nothing set in stone apart from the diesel engine and manual.

Only really interested in new if it is a very good deal (depreciation etc) so nearly new is probably favourable but everything and all offers/deals considered.
