Call them and ask them to transfer the amount. Ensure that they won't make the mistake of trying to charge you a "cash advance" fee - Clydesdale did this to me once when I had a similar issue (they tried to charge me £3.00 cash advance fee when I took out about 20p to close off the account , but paid it back when I complained).

  • Phone them up and ask for a refund of the credit.
  • By what method are they going to return it though? I want it back in my bank account, not transferred to another card. Or should I spend the credit on the card or just under so any interest is nullified by the remaining credit?

Might be best to just spend £96 on the card.

My dad has had 17p credit on his Barclaycard for years, as he no longer uses it. They refused to refund it (although perhaps because it's such a trivial amount,) won't close the account because it's in credit and just keep sending him stuff in the post.

    Wow. Shifting responsibility there.

Please note: Direct Debit payments will be taken regardless of any additional payments you make.

Thanks to a refund, my Halifax Clarity card is currently about £170 in credit.

Simply spending it on the stuff you'd usually buy. That's what I'll be doing.

They will send it back, they ahve to wait 5 working days to make sure dd is honoured. Give them a ring and ask for a credit balance refund.
