Hi
Has anyone got recommendations for an overnight stay in Heathrow? One night only for two ppl in Aug, departing flight next morning at T3. Nothing grand but must have a shuttle bus. I’ve Googled/TripAdisor/etc but have read some shocking tales about the shuttle bus not turning up.
Price range about £80 ish

You could look at Hotels that are serviced by the FREE local bus
So long as you haven't got umpteen bags getting the London transport bus is OK.0 -
Perhaps the YOTEL in T4 and transfer over to T3 in the morning. Rooms (cabins) are small but perfectly find for an overnight stay, plus a reasonable price.0

Travelodge at Terminal 5 £27 plus taxi (on Travelodge website) for £14. Cheap as chips and good revues!0

It won't beat the price of the Travelodge, but the Sofitel at T5 is sometimes available on Lastminute.com Secret Hotels for £80-90 per night. This is especially the case at weekends, and may be so in August generally as it is low season for corporate travel. The tube or HEX back to T3 will be free. More expensive but a more luxury proposition.0

Have a browse on the LondonToolKit website that blindman has linked. A great resource for Heathrow hotels. I'd also reccomend somewhere on the bath road where you can take advantage of free travel on London buses. The Heathrow "Hotel Hoppas" are extortionate.0

I'm a Yotel convert.
The cabins are tiny -with a fantastic powerful spacious shower , TV and free wi-fi. I tend to arrive late and get up early -and it meets my needs perfectly . I loathe the stress of shuttle buses and don't need a big room -just literally a bed to sleep in.
Another option is to snag a travellodge room at the Feltham Travellodge. It is right by the railway station with fast trains from Waterloo and Clapham Junction- and the next morning you can breakfast at the Weatherspoons opposite before catching a "normal" bus direct to all terminals . The buses are used by mainly airport staff and are frequent and punctual as well as much cheaper than the Hoppa.
Neither are luxury (Travelodge is their usual basic and Yotel is comfy but cramped with two) but I really don't need 4 star facilities and prefer to spend my money whilst I'm away.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
To be honest, if it's just for one night and you are just going to arrive, sleep, shower and leave then all of the Heathrow hotels are much of a muchness. No point in spending money on facilities that you won't use.
I usually leave it late then get a deal through http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/ - Heathrow has such an oversupply of rooms that there are always late availability bargains to be had.
Information on the free local bus services to you have avoid paying for the Hoppa at http://www.londontoolkit.com/lhr/heathrow_local_buses.htm - Heathrow and the hotels don't advertise this service for some reason0
