Mobile smashed, change glass or LCD too??

I am well annoyed, just dropped my brand new Galaxy S5 only about a month old, the glass screen is smashed to bits.. The LCD and touch screen is fine and it all works ok apart from the smashed front glass..
Took it to a few local side street mobile shops who said you 'can' change just the glass on them, but they all say that causes touchscreen and colour issues and they say I should change the LCD and glass together rather than split and re-glue new glass, the difference being £40 for glass only to £140 for both.
They reckon if I go for glass only i'll only be back for the full LCD anyway in a few weeks and its a waste of the intital £40...
There are also people on ebay offering glass only for £40-£50..
Anyone know if this is true, or just sales BS to get you to spend on a more costly repair??

It's a real pain to replace just the digitizer... you need to replace the glue with special optical glue- and if you mess the process up, you'll end up with the 'oil slick' effect on your screen permanently.
It really is easier to replace the whole screen and glass assembly as one.
If you don't believe me- watch the following video, which illustrates how difficult it is to do.

The part is cheap, but it's an easy to go wrong job- and if you go to a decent repairer, they'll charge you accordingly for the complexity of the work. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
