  • Well sadly Firefox is just awful. Keeps "not responding" (it does this at work also) and most annoyingly I cannot sign in to LastPass as it keeps telling me the password is incorrect when it isn't as it is the same password I have had for years and I sign in chrome with it

Well it looks like the new bookmarks are being rolled out more and judging by the comments on this thread many many people are totally unhappy with it.

"Sarah" from Google who asked for feedback re the new bookmarks has asked why we want to sort/alphabetize bookmarks?? I cannot believe they are asking that question. Google has now changed it so that when you want to look for a bookmark you now have to "search" for it!!

When they initially changed for me back in December I was on my little holiday laptop as we were away for Christmas visiting family. The disable chrome flag did not work for me (nor does it seem to work for a few people) but my hubby uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome for me and I got my old bookmarks back ;).

I am now dreading my main laptop getting updated and having these awful awful new bookmarks forced upon me as they are totally unusable.

I commented on the google thread back in early December when my laptop updated itself to the new set-up and I used exactly the same words 'totally unusable'.

At that point there was no option to switch off the new version so I moved over to Firefox on the laptop. This works OK-ish, but I find it more cumbersome than chrome. The laptop is on Windows 7 which got the 'new improved' version first. It seems like the roll-out is now heading for Windows 8 machines - not good news.

Another thing that wasn't possible with the new version was selecting and opening multiple bookmarks, which makes it a complete non-starter for me.

Anyone know how to stop Chrome auto-updates?
