just read the newbies sticky thread near the top of this forum
it covers EVERYTHING you need to know about these invoices on private land0 -
Which parking company?
They'll argue that there was a windscreen ticket, but in truth they either don't leave them or they take a photo and then remove them again, as it prevents any 'conflict'.
Have you complained to the store in question?Je Suis Cecil.0 -
yes i spoke to the shop and they said there was nothing they can do the parking company is smart parking also the second letter is from DRP dedt recovery plus ltd0

Is this Asda?
They are lying to you by saying there's nothing they can do, they are the principal in a principal/agent relationship with Smart, they call the shots not the parking company. I take it they're not interested in your Christmas shop?
I would send Debt Recovery Plus a short letter stating that the debt is denied, and to refer the matter back to their client.
They're supposed to stop writing to you at that point. They won't, but when they do write, they'll open Smart up to a complaint to the BPA and DVLA.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
send the appeal template letter to smart anyway, assuming you are in england or wales
and complain LOUDLY to the retailer to get it cancelled, asap , if necessary complain to their head office0 -
yes adsa will go back into to store and ask to speak to the manager can i show him this mail? so they dont just try and fob me off , also as well as sending a letter to DRP is it wise to make contact with smart to explain there mistate0

As ever, this is covered in the sticky thread at the top of this parking forum - which is why I wrote it. Sadly, last year it got silly as we could not keep up with all the ''help I have got a private parking ticket, what do I do?'' threads so I wrote a sticky thread BEGGING newbies to 'read these FAQS first'.
Smart almost always just cancel when they get sent the appeal template from the NEWBIES thread (EVEN IF SENT LATE) ... so bung that in online now (no need to change it).
And if not, then post #4 shows you all about the booooring DRP/Zenith letter chain and why we don't want to hear about the letters!
Re Asda, go back show him your receipts from any recent visits and tell him you require the fake PCN to be cancelled. Do NOT speak only to a person on the CS desk and DO NOT be fobbed off that 'Asda don't own the car park so there is nothing we can do' (it's a lie - Asda DO own their car parks and Asda are responsible for Smart). If the Store manager himself is useless then ask for the contact of their Head Office, so you can escalate the complaint (that should work).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
