Nook HD+ Tablet problems

I purchased a Nook HD+ in Sainsburys for £79 which I think was a bargain. I've had it 3 months and it has started to freeze, jump from emails to Firefox to Facebook etc. My question is, should I return it for a refund (Sainsburys have no stock) or do I Root it? I'm unlikely to get another tablet with the same superb screen resolution for the price. I have very little idea how to Root it (which will make my warranty void).
Any suggestions, please?

They are unlikely to refund send for repair yes ..
Root will not fix any problems .
Backup data contacts etc and factory reset .
See what happens if still problems return to the vendor under SOGA .0 -
