Hi
Is there a solar security light that always stays on at dusk? I've looked on-line and all I can find is PIR versions.
I would like to have a light always on at the side of my house.
Thanks

Unless the light was attached to a big battery, it's not going to have enough charge to last all night.0

As said it wont last long. I have several solar lights in various locations even when using a pir and on a few minutes a day at most they are days when it wont even come on due to lack of sunshine and two are south facing. You need a South facing solar light with a large solar panel in order to get any meaningful length of time for light to work.0

I have one of these: http://www.thesolarcentre.co.uk/products/Curve_Solar_Motion_Light-681-78.html
Works all night most nights - the only exceptions being recently with it being shortest day and cloudy, when there have been 2 or 3 days in the last couple of weeks that it's only come on for a few hours at dusk.0 -

The description seems to state this light is motion-activated, not a dusk-to-dawn light that the OP wants."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

It comes on at dusk with a dim light and lights to full brightness when movement is detected.0 -
Question:
What is it about the glow mode? Some people mention that it is always glowing and goes brighter when it is triggered. This is not mentioned in the description and I would imagine that it depletes the batteries quickly. Can I switch this off? I only need light when somebody is there.
Answer:
This light no longer has the dim function as it was a big drain on the battery life. It will only turn on when activated by the PIR.over 73 but not over the hill.0
